"Top class resort with plenty of activities and nature viewing"
"Arenas del Mar is down a long narrow road away from the built up area of Manuel Antonio but has direct access to this beautiful beach from the quiet end. The resort is top class, with excellent facilities and good food and service. There are plenty of nature tours which are organised with other providers and while these can be expensive, they are excellent. The dolphin watching was fun and successful, zip-lining a great way to see the rain forest (even in the pouring rain!), and night walks and bird watching uncover many unusual species. We were kept fully occupied but managed a few hours of sunbathing at the pool."

Lapa Rios Ecolodge

"Lovely eco-lodge surrounded by nature"
"Lapa Rios is a haven of comfort in the midst of a wildlife haven. We found the food especially nice, the rooms delightful (a sloth climbing a tree outside our cabin!) and the activities on offer excellent. We had brilliant guiding for birds and animals and highly recommend the day trip into the nearby Corcovado Park. The many trails around the site are easily acessible for solo venturing and the beach is a short stroll away. Toucans, monkeys and scarlet macaws abound, and can be easily seen from the viewing deck at the lodge. This is a very special low-impact destination in a less travelled part of Costa Rica. The only caveat is there are a lot of steps from the cottages to the main lodge which can put your legs to the test!"

The Harmony Hotel

"One of my favorite places to say anywhere"
The other reviews pretty much say everything I would say about this hotel. It was fabulous and I had such a wonderful time. I have recommended this hotel to everyone I know! From the fresh fruit smoothies and the kind staff, to the luxurious rooms and yet comfortable, laid back vibe of the place, my time at Harmony could not have been better. Can't wait to return!

Latitude 10 Resort

"Monkey Four Seasons"
Had wonderful time at Lat 10. We had a family of 14 monkeys overhead the entire stay. weather was great for the rainy season. Beach was beautiful and it was great to sit in tide pools during low tide. Saw many old friends and met some new ones. One of my favorite places on earth.

Finca Rosa Blanca Coffee Plantation & Inn

"A Perfect start of our holiday"
After a long trip we arrived at the Finca. It was like a heaven of tranquility. The beautiful wildlife , the very interesting tour of the coffee plantation with Leo, we learned so many things . How to smell and taste coffee. How the coffee grows in a sustainable environment.
The rooms were very original and the beds very comfortable. The Chef Rodrigo in the kitchen prepared delicious dinners. A great start to a wonderful time in Costa Rica. We strongly recommend the Finca, if you arrive in San José for the first three nights. The communication was excellent before we arrived. The hotel organized our rental car from Usave. A very good choice . We received a brand new car and everything was delivered on time.The climate is perfect to get used to the country. Not to warm.
